Juan Manuel Fangio, known as El Chueco or The Master, was a top-notch racing car driver from Argentina who dominated the first decade of Formula One racing, winning the World Drivers' Championship five times. He dropped his studies in childhood to pursue auto mechanics. In 1938, he made his debut in Turismo Carretera driving a Ford V8. Two years later, he competed with Chevrolet and won the Grand Prix International Championship. Fangio then focused on Argentine Turismo Carretera where he became champion.
