So I upgraded the rifled barrel for Nerf darts by installing four and six rifling grooves. This upgrade is designed to work seamlessly with short-dart configurations. Testing has been conducted using a worker Gen 3 model and an ACC Gen 3 model, both of which have yielded positive results. One major advantage of this design is that it eliminates the need for fishing lines. The four rifling grooves are specifically engineered for lower FPS levels (less than or equal to 150 FPS), while the six rifling grooves are designed for higher FPS levels (greater than 150 FPS). The six rifling grooves will experience greater drag compared to their four-groove counterparts, but this increased drag is necessary to stabilize the darts at higher velocities. However, there is a critical component that must be sourced from K&S: a 29mm length of 9/16-inch brass. This additional piece serves as a stabilizing mechanism for stray darts, reducing the extent to which they will veer off course. As the darts accelerate through the barrel, spin within the rifling grooves, and then stabilize in the brass, their trajectory is significantly improved. The various models are designated based on the outer diameter of the barrels they are intended for. The "16" designation corresponds to 16mm barrels, while "58" represents a 5/8-inch barrel configuration like that found on the Caliburn. The "1732" model is specifically designed for use with 17/32-inch brass from K&S. Finally, the number of rifling grooves is indicated by either a "4" (four grooves) or a "6" (six grooves). For clarity's sake, JSS stands for Just Shoot Straight – a name that should be familiar to anyone who has ever picked up a Nerf blaster.
