Improved version - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:807105 This modification is based on the design found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:724526 . The project began with my introduction to droidplanner in conjunction with my APM 2.5 powered quadcopter, and I realized a means to secure my phone onto my transmitter was needed. The mount has been designed around the LG G2 smartphone when equipped within an Incipio case, although adjustments can be made for alternative uses of the clips. Two OTG cables are employed in this assembly; one end of each is anchored with a 3DR radio connector as depicted at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:41536 . The various parts were created utilizing PLA filament with parameters of 0.2mm layer height and 100% material density for the finished product. Additionally, an M3 thread pattern was machined onto the center portion. To my surprise, the threads retained within the printed components held exceptionally well under this type of stress. A single M3x12 socket head bolt fastens each clip to its respective mount. The remainder is connected utilizing a straightforward system with an M4x45 flat head screw, attached securely to the transmitter bracket on one end and locked in place via a corresponding nut. A convenient well has been crafted for securing this last component - namely, a smaller nut threaded onto the provided arm for extra hold when necessary. In consideration of those seeking a lighter option for their quadcopter's mounted phone bracket, JR9303_phone_bracket_2a.stl presents an adapted design. Its simpler configuration makes it suitable as a singular clip for reduced weight models; I opted to add two clips in order to better balance out my quad, and I strongly advise users choose the configuration which provides them with the desired outcome based on their aircraft's requirements and setup choices.
