Joystick knob for Korg DSS-1, DW-8000, Poly-800, DS-8
thingiverse
This is a direct replacement joystick knob for the legendary Korg synths of the 80s, including the DSS-1, Poly-800, DS-8, and DW-8000. The joystick stem on these classic instruments measures precisely 3mm. Two versions of the knob are available, each featuring a distinct hole size: one with a snugly fitting 3mm hole and another with a slightly larger 3.1mm hole. Depending on your printer's capabilities, you may find that the 3mm version fits too tightly or perfectly - be cautious not to damage the joystick when installing it. This design is specifically tailored for printing on an SLA (Stereolithography) machine, as the intricate knurling details would be challenging to replicate with a FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printer. Unfortunately, I don't have access to an SLA printer at this time, but Pete Brown from the Facebook synth and DW8000 community has kindly tested the design on his Prusa SL1. The accompanying photos showcase Pete's print.
