Joystick Enclosure
thingiverse
This is an enclosure designed specifically for a R/C joystick, carefully crafted from scratch. I acquired the joystick board from Amazon, initially intended as an Arduino shield, but with some modifications to suit my needs. I removed the header connectors and will solder wires directly to connect it to a Arduino Nano board, which transmits the joystick's X and Y positions along with button presses over Bluetooth. The enclosure features a clamshell design that can be fully customized using OpenSCAD software. The bottom component securely holds the Nano and Bluetooth modules in place, accompanied by a 9v battery and a convenient power switch. Meanwhile, the top component boasts four strategically placed tabs to firmly secure the joystick board. Both components come equipped with a latch mechanism to keep them locked together, while a small yet thoughtful cutout allows for easy insertion of a screwdriver, enabling effortless disassembly for maintenance or battery replacement.
