First prize in the Instructables Wheel Contest, second prize in the Instructables Arduino Contest, and runner up in the Instructables Design for Kids Challenge was awarded to us. We want to thank everyone who voted on our project!!!http://www.instructables.com/id/Joy-Robot-The-Fun-Open-Source-3D-Printed-Article/\n\nThe last update was made on 24/11/2018. Holes for DC motors were fixed in the wheel_right and wheel_left parts. Holes for Arduino Uno R3 and L298N H-bridge were also fixed in the base part.\n\nRobots are everywhere now. From industrial applications to underwater and space exploration, they're being used all over the place. But my favorite ones are those that bring fun and entertainment! In this project, a DIY robot was designed for children's hospitals, bringing some joy to the kids. The goal of this project is to share knowledge and promote technological innovation to help NGOs that do charitable work in children's hospitals.\n\nIn this project, a remotely operated humanoid robot was designed, controlled over a Wi-Fi network using an Arduino Uno connected to an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module. It uses some servomotors for head and arm movements, DC motors for moving small distances, and a face made of LED matrices. The robot can be controlled from any ordinary internet browser using a HTML designed interface. An Android smartphone is used to broadcast video and audio from the robot to the operator's control interface.\n\nThe whole structure of the robot was 3D printed, and it uses open hardware and open software at its core.\n\nFull instructions are available on instructubles.com:https://www.instructables.com/id/Joy-Robot-The-Fun-Open-Source-3D-Printed-Article/\n\nSpecial thanks to the other team members involved in this project:\n-Thiago Farauche\n-Diego Augustus\n-Yhan Christian\n-Helam Moreira\n-Paulo de Azevedo Jr.\n-Guilherme Pupo\n-ASEBS\n\nFind more about the project:https://hackaday.io/project/12873-Joy-Robot-The-Fun-Open-Source-3D-Printed-Articlehttps://www.hackster.io/igorF2/Joy-Robot-The-Fun-Open-Source-3D-Printed-Article-85e178https://www.facebook.com/Joy-Robot/\n\nHow can you help?\n\nThis project is funded by team members and small donations from some enterprises. If you liked it, there are some ways you can help us:\n\nDonation: you can send us tips if you want to support the construction of the robot and its future improvements. The tips will be used to buy supplies (electronics, 3D printing, filaments, etc.) and to promote our interventions in children's hospitals. Your name will be added to the credits of the project!\nLike: Show us how much you appreciate our project. Give us a "like" on the platforms we document our project (Facebook, Hackster, Hackaday, Maker Share, Thingiverse...).\nShare: Share the project on your favorite social media website, so that we can reach more people, and inspire more makers around the world.\nDid you know you can find the Anet A8 for only $145.99?
