First Prize in the Instructables Wheels Contest, Second Prize in the Instructables Arduino Contest, and Runner-up in the Design for Kids Challenge. Thanks to everyone who voted on us!!! http://www.instructables.com/id/Joy-Robot-Rob-da-Alegria-Open-Source-3D-Printed-A/ Last update: 24/11/2018. Fixed holes for DC motors on wheel_right and wheel_left parts. Fixed holes for Arduino Uno R3 and L298N H-bridge on base part. Robots are taking over everywhere. From industrial applications to underwater and space exploration, they're making waves in every field. But my favorite robots are the ones that bring fun and entertainment to people's lives! In this project, a DIY robot was designed to bring joy to children in hospitals, spreading happiness and cheer wherever it goes. The project focuses on sharing knowledge and promoting technological innovation to help NGOs do amazing work in children's hospitals. I designed a remotely operated humanoid robot that can be controlled over a Wi-Fi network using an Arduino Uno connected to an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module. It uses some servomotors for head and arm movements, some DC motors for moving around, and a face made of LED matrices. The robot can be controlled from any ordinary internet browser using a custom-designed HTML interface. An Android smartphone is used to broadcast video and audio from the robot to the operator's control interface. The whole structure of the robot was 3D printed, and it uses open hardware and software at its core. This project is funded by my team and small donations from some great enterprises. If you liked it, there are a few ways you can help us: - Donation: You can send us tips to support the construction of the robot and its future improvements. The tips will be used to buy supplies (electronics, 3D printing, filaments, etc.) and promote our interventions in children's hospitals. Your name will be added to the credits! - Like: Show us how much you appreciate our project by giving it a "like" on the platforms we document our work (Facebook, Hackster, Hackaday, Maker Share, Thingiverse...). - Share: Share the project on your favorite social media website so that we can reach more people and inspire more makers around the world.
