Josias, king of Judah, delivers funds raised to Amasia, Governor of the city, to trim temple expenses back down to a perfect level and fulfill its purpose. The relief sculpture by Pietro Bracci, Roman sculptor, is depicted in a more dynamic and expressive way than Della Valle's interpretation. The bas-relief figures rise up from below with greater precision while their abundant drapery is rendered with deep folds and sharp contrasts of light, characteristic of marble works created by this artist. Bracci follows the late-baroque style after completing his apprenticeship under Giuseppe Chiari and later studying with Camillo Rusconi. In 1724, he demonstrates his refined culture by writing in Arcadia as Gisilio Niddano. On March 6, 1740, he earns academic merit admission to San Luca Academy, and in 1756, he also assumes the role of Prince.
