Joseph Joseph Kitchen Roll / Towel holder adapter
thingiverse
Modern problems demand modern solutions. I've got a Joseph Joseph Kitchen roll (Kitchen Towel) holder that works well for smaller rolls, but it can't handle larger rolls like the Regina Blitz kitchen rolls. This redesigned end piece provides the extra height/length needed to accommodate taller rolls. It's perfectly fine in PLA and is plenty strong enough. Some minimal supports are required for the two screw tabs, so make sure your support options allow for supports everywhere to avoid printing the tabs in mid-air. I used a brim just to ensure the model stayed put, but if you trust your printer, it will probably be okay without one. There's a slight fillet/curve on top when it's oriented for use to make it feel nicer in the hand, so you might want to give the model a gentle sanding or post-processing to smooth it out. The second picture shows the existing piece, and then the following pictures show the updated 3D printed piece. If this helps anyone, please share your makes and if you're feeling generous, send me a small tip - every little bit counts!
