Since everyone seems to enjoy making filament holders, I thought I would give it a try. You will need 4 standard 8x22x7 skate bearings. I have included some tools for cleaning up left-handed threads. All I did was take some sandpaper to them and then run the "tools" over them once.Remember to go slow! If you do it too fast, it heat up and ruin the part. New version withrunners andtombstone brackets printed together. Note that the longer two-piece version is more stable. Print Settings Printer: Micromake D1 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm / 0.4nozzle Infill: 25% Notes: Because of the threads/screws I recommend going max shells: 5 shells (0.4 nozzle x 5 = 2mm) and 4 layers top/bottom (0.25mm x 4 = 1mm) The "Single Piece" version is short but solid. Post-Printing Assembly *If you have it, use a nylon or steel M6x10 screw, the printed one is just too weak. At the very least, print the screw with at least 5 shells. (That's 2mm with a 0.4 nozzle.)* Print the "Plate"(If you do it one plate at a time, you will not get the "L" and "R" parts mixed up.) Use sandpaper and the provided "tools" to smooth the left-handed threads.(Marked with an "L".) Use sandpaper and a 6mm nut and bolt to smooth the right-handed threads. Glue the spreader parts together with the included pin.(Be sure to sand the pin for easy assembly.) Screw a round plate into a tombstone plate with a bearing wedged between the bosses. Put the assembled bearing brackets on each end of the spreader. Again, pay attention to "L" and "R".(I screwed them all the way to the middled for assembly.) If you are using the long one, glue and screw the two assembly halves together. Repeat steps 1 to 7 for another the other side. Category: 3D Printer Accessories
