Project Jointy Bot - An Introduction I embarked on Project Jointy Bot in 2019, determined to create an articulated figure using a cup and ball joint. I began by sketching out my design concepts on paper, then moved on to designing the parts in Onshape, a free online CAD program that facilitated my creative process. Upon completing the design phase, I exported the parts as STL files, which I used to print them out on a 3D printer for testing and evaluation. Through this iterative cycle of design, testing, and evaluation, Jointy Bot took shape. He stands approximately 190mm tall, boasting an impressive 39 articulated parts and a total of 49 component parts that work in harmony to create a lifelike figure. To assemble Jointy Bot, please download the comprehensive PDF file that provides step-by-step instructions on how to bring this intricate robot to life. Warning! Please note that this project is not suitable for small children due to the presence of small parts that can pose a choking hazard and the use of a naked flame during assembly.
