Jointer blades sharpening jig
thingiverse
I designed a jointer blade sharpening jig that's perfect for cutting-edge enthusiasts. This handy tool is crafted specifically for blades with a 40° bevel and measures 258mm long, ensuring a precise fit every time. The space between the two holes is a consistent 51mm, so if you have the same spacing, you can use this jig even if your blade's total length differs from 258mm. I opted to secure the top with M4 screws attached to the bottom, providing a sturdy and reliable hold. While it's necessary to print the top twice for optimal results, you can still achieve success with just the bottom, some screws, and washers. Simply print the jig flat, avoiding the standing position depicted in the image. For a clearer understanding of the setup and sharpening process, I recommend checking out the linked video (https://youtu.be/qUepuS66eJk). In this instructional clip, you'll see my preferred printing settings, which eliminated the need for supports.
