Jointed Robot
thingiverse
I enjoy creating jointed figures. Check out my creations here: http://www.soniaverdu.es/p/bjd-art-doll.html I want to share this posable robot figurine with you now. It features ball joints and some hinge-like joints. An elastic cord is used to secure the limbs and allow for positioning - no screws needed at all! I hope you really enjoy. Here's a video showing how it moves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bH3-T-4muZQ&feature=youtu.be I highly recommend printing in the highest quality possible for good fitment. No support material should be required at any time. There is a video on assembling the robot figurine with elastic cord here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oG39NoSJGM&feature=youtu.be The elastic cord that works best with this robot is 3mm in diameter. In my video, I used 3mm-diameter elastic cord for the neck/head and arms/legs with a thinner one. However, the robot works best when you use one of 3mm-diameter elastic cords and quite tight knots. Print settings are as follows: layer height (0.1 mm), bottom/top shell thickness (1.2 mm) is especially important for delicate parts like the neck, arms, and hands. Fill density is 20%. Print speed is 40 mm/s. Support material is not required but if you have trouble, you can choose "platform adhesion". I've printed with PLA at a temperature of 210°C.
