In 3ds Max 2010 with V-Ray 2.40.03 loaded, choose file formats including fbx without textures applied. To achieve a fully furry character, utilize Joiner Pouff along with max files specifically crafted for fur creation. Geometry-generated fur can be also created by applying modifiers, eliminating the need for geometry altogether. Before rendering, navigate to Rendering - Effects and select Hair and Fur, then switch to mr prim mode at the bottom of the window. Make sure your system units are set to millimeters for optimal results.
