This is the site of a devastating avalanche in 2012. The geographical features on this map are depicted at actual scale, one full pixel per feature. I've kept it to standard size for two reasons - firstly because I wanted to emphasize the terrain itself rather than artificially scale up tiny features. It's created using extremely detailed data from the Space Shuttle with 1 arcsecond resolution, equivalent to over 2.6 million polygons at once. To build this map, I employed a cutting-edge version of SRTM2STL, not yet released.
