John Amy Bird Bell, a 14-year-old boy, received a death sentence in 1831 for slashing Richard Taylor's throat. Just one day before his scheduled execution, he finally broke down, sobbing uncontrollably as he accused his mother of orchestrating his miserable fate upon seeing her. Following his passing, medical professionals from Rochester were granted permission to dissect Bell's body for further study.
