As fate would have it, Johanna eventually married Gottlieb Heileman, a pioneering entrepreneur who founded G. Heileman Brewery in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Following her husband's passing, Johanna rose to prominence as president of the brewery, making her one of the trailblazing female CEOs in Wisconsin history.
