Joel Holder

Introducing the Joel Holder. Designed for Joel Telling's Spool Holder 3D Printing Contest, this extremely simple, single-piece spool holder is designed to hold a spool of filament on a 1x2in board. With all things 3D printed being iterative, this spool holder is inspired by the Prusa MK3 spool holder but completely redesigned from the ground up for proper weight distribution mounted on a board. In line with the spirit of Open Source, I have included the link below to download the Fusion 360 file, allowing easy and simple edits in case clearances are slightly off. Every wood board is different. Features Include: * Fully parametrically designed for easy adjustment of clearances using the source files, which can be downloaded using this link: https://a360.co/2NxPxJh. I have also included the source Fusion 360 file on MyMiniFactory. * Designed to press fit onto a 1x2in (approximately 18mm x 38mm) board for easy installation or removal. Use the M3 screw hole for added support if necessary, but not required. * Designed to hold both narrow and wide spools. * Designed to maximize clearance behind the spool to allow for wall mounting or mounting in front of shelving. * Designed specifically for FDM 3D printers to minimize print time and plastic use while maintaining a very strong part. No supports are necessary to print this, and standard PLA is strong enough; however, a gloss material like PETG or Nylon would likely have longer wear and tear. The print shown was printed in Matterhackers Build series PLA at 210/65 with a 0.2mm layer height.
