JL - Uno Breadboard Tray
thingiverse
This is a custom tray designed to mount an Arduino Uno, a prototyping breadboard, and two LM2596 DC-DC Buck converter modules or similar-sized prototyping PCBs. It's specifically sized to fit inside the plastic box that came with an "Uno R3 starter kit" ordered on eBay. The design features an open end allowing for longer prototyping breadboards, along with a temporary parts area so components don't get lost. All mounting holes accommodate m2.5 screws up to 8 mm in length. Typically, Arduinos are mounted with m3 screws, but due to interference with top pan-head screws and board headers, m2.5 screws were chosen instead. One Arduino mounting hole was moved to a 0.5mm offset position to avoid this issue, ensuring that the same size mounting screws can be used for both the Arduino and LM2596 DC-DC Buck converter modules. Dimensions: 170mm x 83mm x 25mm Revision history: • v1: Initial draft. • v2: Changed Arduino mounting holes to m2.5 and offset one hole to avoid interference with a header, enlarged overall size, and added mounting points for a second buck converter. • v3: Added a through-hole path for an optional power-input cable between the Arduino and Breadboard, along with a small handle also used for wire management.
