JJRC X9 Heron Drone Landing Leg

JJRC X9 Heron Drone Landing Leg

The JJRC X9 Heron is essentially a DJI Spark Drone clone and faces similar issues... when taking off or landing, the camera can be extremely close to the ground. There's a landing leg for DJI Spark designed by mwilmar but it has slightly different dimensions than the Heron. So I had to redo the fitting. The legs installed will raise the camera about 5mm. By the way, here are two more tips: You can modify a DJI Tello case to fit the Heron and the controller since the Heron case is hard to find or too bulky. Also, using a landing pad helps with grass/sand not touching the camera, especially if you have good landing skills. I printed the legs with 20% infill, 20% support density, and 3 or 4 outer layers. Each leg weighs about 6 grams. Print one for each leg. [Update] I've added another STL, "JJRCLeg_5cm.stl", which will raise the drone by another centimeter. This new design should work better.
