The Jina is a member of a group of five Buddhas belonging to the Mahayana tradition. They are eternally meditating, associated with one of the five cardinal points and the zenith, each linked to a specific color, mount, canonical gesture, quality they extol, and defect they combat. Each Jina has a double female aspect, their "prajna" or wisdom, which can be represented united with them. They are also known as Tathagata, meaning "those who have gone well." This group includes Vairocana at the center, Akshobhya in the east, Ratnasambhava to the south, Amitabha in the west, and Amoghasiddhi in the north. This object is part of the Scan The World initiative.
