Human: Jigsaw, Tessellating Hexagons, Pascal's Triangle, Number Patterns Hexagons tessellate in unique ways, allowing the exploration of special number patterns along diagonals, such as Pascal's Triangle. They are useful in K-12 mathematics for all sorts of algebraic or geometric activities. For the curious mind, try expanding (a+b)^3 and look at the coefficients in a^3, 3a^2b, 3ab^2, b^3. After exploring the possibilities, I designed the hexagon pieces with holes to allow flexible pattern-making and printing. Also included are a set of blank hexagons, on which you can write your own numbers or symbols (stickers work too), and a set of numbers 1-7. Notes Use any number of hexagons or numbers to serve your audience. Print both hexagons and numbers using two colors of filament. They are reversible! Each number pin has the same number on both ends. You may need more of certain numbers than others, depending on your goal. Have fun!
