Human: Jigsaw Numbers (0-100), letters, and Operators / Algebra Tiles/Hundred Board "God made the integers; all the rest is the work of Man." (Leopold Kronecker) Children love jigsaw puzzles, especially when the big picture emerges! Numbers work in a similar way. When arranged in meaningful patterns, number sequences are fun to play with. For example, what is the sum of all integers between 0 and 9? So I decided to design some jigsaw numbers pieces and some corresponding operators. Please print whatever is suitable for your audience. Each piece measures 25mm x 25mm x 5mm. Multiple copies can be printed for open explorations. Please teach children how to use parentheses or other means to avoid run-on number sentences like 3+2=5+4=9, which, as a whole, does not make sense. At least, children should know that such run-on use of "=" is unacceptable in mathematics. Numbers & Symbols 1. 101 Numbers: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, ..., 90-99, 100 2. 10 letters: a, b, c, d, e, f, x, y, z, θ 3. 20 Operators: two sets 4. 10 Blanks for spacing or placeholders Notes 1. To highlight the numbers, please use a permanent marker to trace them after printing. Or, if you like, you could change the filament toward the end (say, 5%) and print the numbers in a different color. 2. Twist a little bit to separate the pieces after printing. 3. Increase the layer thickness for tighter connection; decrease the layer thickness for loose connection.
