Jig to Wind Sindoh 3DWOX Filament Spool
thingiverse
We swapped our Makerbots for Sindoh printers and have a substantial amount of leftover Makerbot filament. So far, the Sindohs have been reliable, and one feature is their ability to utilize open-source filament. Manually winding the filament gets old fast, so we came up with a jig to hold an empty spool on a drill. The center post was a later addition to "ram rod" the jig out of the spool, as it's a pretty tight fit. We printed one of the many spool holders found elsewhere on Thingiverse to store the Makerbot filament. The process works smoothly. One hand holds the drill while winding, and the other guides the filament from its source material (which tends to wind quickly and unspool with momentum).
