Jig for drilling extra holes for shelves
thingiverse
This jig is designed specifically for drilling additional holes in wooden shelving systems, utilizing pegs to accurately position the shelves. I employed it for some aged Ikea Billy shelves that rely on 5 mm pegs. The tool is also compatible with Ikea kitchen shelving systems as-is, but can be easily modified to accommodate other systems. Printing this jig requires no complex procedures. I opted for PLA, which exhibits minimal shrinkage issues during the printing process. To ensure accurate depth control, you can apply a piece of tape around the drill bit. A valuable tip when working with Billy shelves is to utilize a 4.9 mm drill instead of a standard 5.0 mm - this will provide a snug fit for the pegs.
