JG AURORA Z-603S - SIDE WINDOWS Here is the first of three sets to make 'side windows' for the veteran JG AURORA Z-603S. It's fixed windows. A printer with at least a bed of 300 x 300 m is needed to print each of these frames (inner & outer one) in one piece. Actually I'm adapting two of these sets to be printed using the Z-603S. This means glueing some parts ... SET 1 - FLAT FRAME: This set is thought for a 2,5 mm thick plexiglass sheet (not provided). Plexi max. dimensions 250 x 245 mm You can't find plexiglass with 2,5 mm thickness? For less then 2,5 mm, use this adapter/spacer (acid-green) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4906215 Adjust the thickness/height to your needs. This spacer is h=1mm Needed hardware for SET 1: 5 x M3 screws - length 15 mm (max. 16 mm) 3 x M3 screws - length 25 mm (max. 30mm) 8 x washers. Inner diam. = 3,00 mm / Outer diam. = 7 mm 8 x M3 locking nuts NOTE: take care not to use too long screws. Have in mind that you are adding a MOD to your printer which has not been tested by the manufacturer and which is likely to affect the future behaviour of your machine. So … you do this at your own risk! Under normal circumstances the X, Y and E0 steppers run hot. I presume they will get even hotter after closing both sides of the printer. This is clearly a CON, so keep an eye on this. - - - UPDATE 2021.09.04: I've been monitoring temperatures and the X-stepper runs really hot, reaching up to 70-75ºC. Adding a fan will bring it down to safer 50-55ºC (no heatsink used so far).
