This design is perfect for organizing keys, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The holes at the back are designed for hanging earrings, while the two "T" shaped structures on the sides hold keys in place. The two cylinders are ideal for placing bracelets or watches around, and the central tree is used to hang necklaces neatly. Project: Jewelry Organizer Objectives: Students will master both creativity and functionality through this design. Those who examine or create this model will learn the importance of organization and creating correctly scaled pieces that fit perfectly with jewelry, watches, and keys being displayed on the model. Necklaces often get tangled and earrings may go missing if they don't have a designated spot, so this will help people of all ages stay organized efficiently. Preparation: Students should be familiar with the inventor program and comfortable manipulating tools to create the more expressive design of the tree in the center of the model. Steps: To start, begin by creating a sketch in the XY plane and drawing a 2" x 24" rectangle. Begin at the middle of the top of the rectangle and draw a tree that is 2" wide at its base. From there, draw the tree upwards, creating enough branches to hold as many necklaces as desired. Finish the sketch and extrude the rectangle 3" in either direction, while also extruding the tree with any preferred thickness in each direction. Use fillet edges to make the tree look more realistic. Next, create a new sketch on the base of the rectangle, drawing two circles for bracelet/watch organizers, followed by two T-shaped holders on either side for keys. Draw a rectangle on the backside of the design with a thickness of 0.25" and then create a rectangular array of small circles to form holes where earrings can be hung. Results: Upon completion, students will have explored both precise calculation and creative expression in inventor, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing model that is perfect for organization.
