Enzo Plazzotta, a renowned British sculptor born May 29, 1921, in Mestre near Venice, Italy, spent his life working in London. His fascination with movement in bronze led to the creation of numerous iconic works, including human forms, horses, ballerinas, and female studies that adorn London's streets. Plazzotta passed away in London on October 12, 1981, at the age of 60. The bronze sculpture 'Jeté', a term borrowed from ballet referring to the French word for "to jump forward", showcases a male dancer in mid-air, with his flowing waistband serving as the base for this seemingly weightless piece. This artwork is believed to honor David Wall, a celebrated English ballet dancer, who became the youngest male principal in The Royal Ballet's history at just 21 years old. This sculpture is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative led by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access. Scan The World is an open-source community effort, inviting individuals with interesting items to contribute by emailing stw@myminifactory.com.
