The Coney Island Scan-A-Rama is a cutting-edge portrait studio that combines traditional amusement park portraiture with modern 3D printing technology. It made its public debut on June 8, 2013 at Danbury Makerfaire using the Scan-O-Tron 3000 scanning rig powered by ReconstructMe and an Xbox Kinect. The scans were impressive, leading to a planned Kickstarter campaign for Scan-A-Rama and open sourcing of plans. For more details or to order prints, visit http://www.thegreatfredini.com/scan-a-rama. When printing the 3D portrait, it's recommended to use .27 or .1 mm layer height without support, with minor trimming required for perfection.
