External battery compartment for 48V 13S3P battery on a Jetson Bolt Pro. Notes:The good thing with this mod is that the original battery is still available to use as normal. The mod is bolt-on… meaning that nothing has been cut and the bike can be restored to stock if you ever want to undo it.I got my battery on aliexpress and the listing shows the dimensions to be 235mm x 65 mm x 68mm. I oversized the compartment so that there's room to wrap a layer of foam or bubble wrap around the battery for cushioning. To do this mod, you will need to open up the bike's controller and battery compartment and flip the original battery so that the power connection can be brought to the exterior. An extension cable needs to be made. See the linked video below on how to do this.https://youtu.be/5kr7u0--iGI?si=SKVnBjx9NrUcxb6qDepending on the battery connector that comes on the battery you buy, you may need a converter cable to convert dean connector or whatever connector you got to XT60.In the pictures you can see I made an opening for the DC plug to charge the battery. I don't have a picture of the inside, but there is a half cylinder that you need to squeeze the plug into and it's tight; you may need to spend some elbow grease to get it in there. Once you get it in, it should be zip tied together to prevent it from falling out.I recommend all printed parts to be in PLA+ or stronger. Mine is printed in Duramic PLA+ matte black. I rode over some bumpy dirt paths and it has held up fine so far.Other required parts:Qty - Description6 - M3 x 14 bolts6 - M3 nuts2 - M5 x 40mm counter sink head bolts2 - M5 nutsI recommend all hardware to be 304 stainless.
