Polygons: 14,374 Vertices: 16,981 Yves Rossy, a Swiss pilot and inventor, is known as the Jet Man and Fusion Man for his achievement of sustained human flight using a jet-powered fixed wing strapped to his back. Rossy developed a system consisting of a backpack with rigid airplane-type carbon-fiber wings, approximately 8 feet 2.4 meters in span, powered by four attached jet engines modified from model aircraft engines. His first flight took place on November 2006 in Bex and lasted nearly six minutes. Yves later successfully flew across the English Channel on September 26, 2008, completing the crossing in under ten minutes at a speed of 186 miles per hour.
