Jet Engine's Variable Inlet Guide Vanes - VIGV
grabcad
In a gas turbine engine, variable inlet guide vanes adjust their angle to suit the operating conditions. Positioned before an axial compressor's first stage and sometimes subsequent stages, these vanes are closed during start-up and low RPM, gradually opening as RPM increases. Low-pressure blades maintain moderate angle of attack at low RPM to prevent stalling; variable inlet guide vanes are uncommon before turbines.
