Curvic couplings are surface couplings with convex and concave teeth developed by Gleason in the 1940s.They have rigidity, self-aligning property, restoring accuracy, and interchangeability and are used in high-precision machine and in connecting rotor parts in gas turbine engines. They were initially used in small engines, but are now also used in large engines."CURVIC" is a registered trademark of Gleason, and they are machined using the company's dedicated Curvic coupling grinding machine. This model was created as a teaching material to explain typical examples of their shape characteristics (tooth type) and their application to gas turbine engines, based on information found on the Internet. Please refer to the attached diagram for each part/assembly data and photos. A. Purchase Parts 1. Screw M3x110L and Nuts B. STL file Total STL files are 14 items including the tools. “ws” of last 2 digits of file name means “With Support” special designed. C. Total Net Print Time: Approx. 24 HR - (Estimated as case of PLA, 0.4mm Nozzle, 0.2mm Layer Height, 40% infill and No raft and support) Note: When at actual print, each parameter may be adjusted by your experience. D. Printing settings Raft, Support, Layer Height, Infill: Depending on your experience. My models were printed by "idbox" using with 0.4 nozzle, 1.75 PLA. I do hope your success!!
