Jet Engine Component; Fan, Metal Blade with Snubber
myminifactory
I used to design models of wide cord composite fans for comparison with propellers.https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-jet-engine-component-fan-75172This model is the metal fan blade model with a snubber, or midspan shroud, that was once mainstream before the birth of composite fans. Some large engines with a bypass ratio of 5 to 1 feature this type, but it's more commonly found in engines with a bypass ratio of around 1 to 1.This type is typically made from titanium. The following explainable elements were incorporated at this time:① Fan blades are metal blades with snubbers, or midspan shrouds, and are full metal, for low-bypass turbofans. All three blades can be removed and assembled by hand simultaneously.② Fan disks have partial dovetail-type slots.Download files include STL files, two items in total, which contain the last two digits of "ws" indicating that they were designed with support.Download the STL file: WS means it was printed with support.Purchase parts information is not available.Assembly points require no special skill; all blades should be assembled simultaneously.Total net print time is approximately 6 hours (estimated for PLA, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, and 40% infill without a raft or support).Note that actual print parameters may vary depending on your experience with 3D printing settings such as raft, layer height, and infill. My models were printed using an idbox with a 0.4 nozzle and 1.75 PLA.I hope you enjoy making this model!
