Jet Engine Component ; Fan
thingiverse
I have created a detailed model of various turbofan engines, simplifying the basic components to accommodate size restrictions on my 3D printer. Next, I expanded each component and built a full-scale model that explains its structure. This "Fan" model is designed for comparing features and configurations with the "Propeller." Although there are many types of "Fan Blade" and associated parts, this is an imaginative representation. The following explainable elements were incorporated at this time: (1) Fan Blade Wide Code Laminated Composite Blades feature a metal leading edge. Only painting indicates material differences. Central two blades can be removed and assembled by hand. (2) Fan Disk It has a "Dovetail" type slot for the blade and an attaching apparatus for the "Platform Cover." (3) Platform Cover This simplified cover is attached to both ends only, whereas actual engine covers are more complex and attached using "Spinner Cone" parts. (4) Fan Case The fan case consists of three layers: from inside, a honeycomb acoustic absorption panel, the fan case itself, and containment material (only painted). Download files include: -files: STL Files (7 items) - STL file names end with "ws," which indicates they were designed with support. Purchase Parts Information: Screws M1.4 screws are required; see photo for details. Assembly Points Standard skills like drilling, tapping, filing, tightening, painting, and gluing are necessary, as well as patience. Assembly procedures are shown in photos. Fit checks between parts are crucial. Total Net Print Time: Approximately 17 hours Estimated print time based on PLA material, a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 40% infill, and no raft or support. Note: Adjust parameters according to your experience when printing the model. 3D Printing Settings: Raft, Support, Layer Height, Infill Adjust settings as needed based on personal experience. My models were printed using an "idbox" with a 0.4 nozzle and 1.75 PLA material.
