I have created a detailed model of various turbofan engines using my 3D printer's capabilities. To accommodate size restrictions, I simplified the basic components and then expanded each part to create an accurate representation that explains the engine's structure. This "Fan" model is designed for comparing the features and configuration of "Propeller" models. Although there are many types of "Fan Blade" and associated parts, this is my imagined model. The following elements were incorporated into this design: (1) Fan Blades - I created Wide Code Laminated Composite Blades with metal leading edges. Painting was used to show material differences. The central two blades can be removed and assembled by hand. (2) Fan Disk - This component features "Dovetail" type slots for the blades and an attaching apparatus for the "Platform Cover". (3) Platform Cover - This is a simplified cover that attaches to both ends only. In actual engines, the cover is more complicated and attached using "Spinner Cone" parts. (4) Fan Case - The case has a 3-layer configuration, consisting of a Honeycomb acoustic absorption panel, Fan Case, and Containment Material Layer (only painted). Downloadable files include STL Files (7 items), where "ws" in the file name indicates that they are designed with support. Purchase Parts Information: - Screws: M1.4 - Refer to photo. Assembly Points: - Standard skills such as drilling, tapping, filing, tightening, painting, and gluing are required. - Assembly procedures are shown in photos. - Fit checks between parts are essential. Total Net Print Time: Approximately 17 hours (Estimated for PLA, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 40% infill, no raft, and support). Note: Actual print parameters may vary based on individual experience. 3D printing settings: - Raft, Support, Layer Height, Infill: These can be adjusted according to personal experience. My models were printed using "idbox" with a 0.4mm nozzle and 1.75 PLA filament. I hope you enjoy creating your own model!
