Jet Engine, 2-Spool, Current
cults3d
For the current jet engine used in middle class passenger planes, an improved 2-Spool design is employed. A 3D model was created to explain the differences between this new design and the latest "3-Spool" and "Geared" turbofan engine models. The key features of the design include: Each spool rotates using a dummy bearing method only. All stator vanes have been omitted to prevent rubbing against blades. Additionally, parts that are difficult to print without support have been prepared with STL files including support. The last two digits of the file name are identified as "ws". To facilitate understanding of each part and assembly order, a parts breakdown list has been created. The download package includes: STL Files (43 items) Images: Parts Breakdown for Assembly Aid Excel File: Parts List Purchase information for required parts is as follows: Aluminum Tubes - See Parts List Screws: Micro screws M1.4x3.5L - Approximately 40 pieces - Direct screw-in to 1 mm diameter hole (No nut) Screws M2 x 6L - 4 ea, See Parts List Assembly points require standard skills such as drilling, tapping, filing, tightening, painting, and gluing. Estimated total net print time is approximately 52 hours. Note: This estimate assumes the use of PLA material, a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 40% infill, and no raft or support.
