Current Jet Engine for Middle Class Passenger Planes Uses Improved 2-Spool Design The current jet engine used in middle class passenger planes employs the advanced 2-Spool design. A detailed 3D model has been created to illustrate the key features of this engine, comparing it to the latest "3-Spool" and "Geared" turbofan engine models. To view the 3D model for the "3-Spool" engine, visit https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2437217. For the "GTF" (Geared Turbofan) engine, go to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2462343. Key Design Points: 1. A dummy bearing method is utilized for each spool's rotation. 2. All stator vanes have been omitted to prevent rubbing between vanes and blades. 3. Certain parts that are challenging to print without support have been provided with STL files that include support. These files are identified by the last two digits of their name, denoted as "ws". To facilitate understanding of each part's contents and assembly order, a parts breakdown list has been prepared. Downloadable Files: - 43 STL Files - Parts Breakdown Images for Assembly Aid - Excel File: Parts List Purchase Required Parts: * Aluminum Tubes (Refer to the Parts List) * Screws: + Micro screws M1.4x3.5L - Approximately 40 ea, for direct screw-in to a 1 mm diameter hole without a nut. + Screws M2 x 6L - 4 ea, as specified in the Parts List. Assembly Requirements: * Standard skills such as drilling, tapping, filing, tightening, painting, and gluing are required. Patience and perseverance are also necessary. Estimated Total Net Print Time: Approximately 52 hours Note: This estimate is based on printing with PLA, a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 40% infill, no raft, and no support. Actual print parameters may vary depending on individual experience.
