Jet Drive
prusaprinters
STILL IN DEVELOPMENT Challenged myself to design a jet drive to be used for a small boat. No idea about cavitation yet. Test build is in progress. It's based around a 10mm shaft with a 18mm M10x1.5 thread on the end and the bearings used are 6900Z or 6900-2RS 10x22x6mm. Nuts and bolts are M5. The shaft is intended to cut threads and thread itself into the final impeller so a little heat to the shaft will aid this. The impeller is then removed and final mount is with marine epoxy. Impellers are sized such that they will need sanding into the housings to ensure a tight tolerance. There's a recess on the housing bottom to facilitate some steel wire mesh to prevent debris from entering the pump but I'm developing fins to replace this. Middle stage is optional. Included are step files for making any adjustments based on shaft and bearing selection. Development continues.
