Jersey Jack Pinball - Pirates of the Caribbean right ramp support
thingiverse
Custom support for the right ramp. This fixes an issue where the left side can droop and, as such, a ball can become caught in this position, requiring removal of the glass to fix. All of this is at your own risk! This is not a Jersey Jack approved solution. If in doubt about the design or your own skills, do not attempt it and contact JJp support directly for help with the issue. All below assumes you have some mechanical ability and understanding to avoid breaking something. Right then... Two versions (see picture). v16 (the one I am using). Short v16. This has a shorter hex spacer section, allowing you to put extra washers below my support to make it even higher. It is made shorter so that there is space between the top of my support and the screw head/rubber washer. Put an extra washer below my support if you need to lift the left side even higher! Adding them to the top will not do anything. Printing: 100% infill as some parts need to be quite thin. Should be strong enough. Only printed at 0.4mm as the part is hidden, so surface quality is not a concern. Important Install Instructions! Remove the rear Pearl Motion bracket so it moves freely. You need to do this so you can test that nothing touches the support. Do not just crank all your screws down! Check the support every time you tighten a screw. You do not want to crack your ramp by over-tightening something! The support fits over the existing hex spacer/stand-off. Gently screw down both lower ramp screws so they are about halfway in and start screwing down the main upper right screw just so it is held. Check for space between ramp and support. Make sure the very left of the support is sitting in the little corner with the metal bracket and opto. You may have to hold the ramp in a nice position so it holds. Once again, be careful not to put too much pressure on any installed screws. A cracked ramp is something I do not want you to get! Make sure you've slid the ramp as far forward on the right screw metal as you prefer, so that it is as close to the black Pearl as possible. Check for space between ramp and support and make sure it is in a good position. Screw lower screws in until just stopping the ramp from lifting off. Screw right side down again until it starts squeezing the rubber washer. Check for space between ramp and support. Pictures I've attached show that there is very little gap between the ramp and the ship now. Use a right angle or a ruler to check that it is close. Double-check that nothing touches the black Pearl! *Post-it note used to show the true surface of the ramp as the transparency in the ramp makes it hard to show that there isn't a gap.
