Design is from page 8 of the Jensen J12W subwoofer manual. Exterior dimensions increased 0.25 in. in each direction due to construction from 1 in. plywood instead of the recommended 0.75 in. MDF (I never cut or route MDF). J12W is a driver that Walmart sells (currently) for just $30. After cutting box for someone else and testing, it was obvious that it's performance is better than my high-dollar JBL and Klipsch home theater subs.Update: Multiple J12W speakers have failed when driven at 100 watts RMS or less. Junk - but exactly what one should expect from anything sold at Walmart.Cut from 1in. oak Purebond plywood. Glue blocks from solid oak. Assembled with lots of Titebond Supreme glue, pocket hole screws, staples, and sheetrock screws. Will eventually be covered with black fuzzy stuff (TM) with stainless steel surrounding the port.Again, this is a reference/recommended design from the Jensen owner's manual. Final port dimension in manual is ambiguous with respect to it including or not including exterior wall thickness - I emailed Jensen for clarification.
