This character model was part of a game project for my final course this spring semester. The character was the main protagonist in our game "Jeniah," and she was the one that players controlled. Our game project drew inspiration from Souls-like games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, so I aimed to capture their distinctive atmosphere in the characters. For this model, I had a concept art sketch of the upper half of the body created by a team member, but I needed to modify the shoulder pads to better fit our game's design. The final model's shoulder pads were altered accordingly. The rest was conceived and implemented by me alone. I had only four days to complete this character. The base body was modeled in ZBrush. Cloth simulation was done using Marvelous Designer, while armor, hair planes, and retopology work were performed in Maya. Texturing took place in Substance Painter. For the hair planes, I created clumps of hair in XGen and then applied different textures using XNormals to achieve a realistic look.
