Jellyfish Swimming - Mechanical Interactive Art - Remix
thingiverse
This was such a fun project and perfect just as jajaum3d created it, but I couldn't help make a few little changes. First of all I added a ruffled edge around the bell (this was before I saw the Sponge Bob version) just to give it some flair. Then I changed the crank handle to make it more cartoony. After printing the bell with transparent filament, I noticed a flaw at the top of the print where there was a circle of opaqueness (see first photo). I decided to make a hat to cover it up rather then to to find the ideal settings to reprint it properly. First I printed the Knit Hat using the Cura fuzzy skin option which came out quite well. Then I decided to make something a bit more nautical and made the Sailor Hat based on the Dixie Cup Hat of the US Navy. Added the anchor from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:195846 just for style. The whole thing went together perfectly and with almost no post-processing on the parts and a little lithium grease and plastic friendly oil made the operation smooth and eerily quiet. Thanks again jajaum3d, where ever you are.
