Jelly Fish

I took a fascinating Cellular Bowl design by Shapespeare, turned it on its head and added some innovative elements to transform it into an underwater creature. I utilized a 1/2in (12.7mm) acrylic tube from my garage as the center post, which you could also print as a clear hollow cylinder of that diameter using four shells with no infill. Next, I employed this LED Module https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00INIIJLI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and left the bottom half intact, drilled a hole in its side as well as the printed base to run the power cord through, then soldered one of these connectors to the battery terminals. I used USB Cords https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01222EM7A/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for a reliable power source. To create the tentacles, I employed miscellaneous beads (I opted for clear iridescent glass beads) on clear nylon string. For the top hoop, I fashioned a wire coat hanger into a circular shape with a line through it, which fit perfectly under the jellyfish shell and provided a nice attachment point for the beads. Alternatively, you could use the four holes to run string through and create loops to hang them from. To enhance the light effect, I printed a diffuser lens with 20% infill. It's worth noting that the base has small notches in it to help center the lower mount when gluing it into place.
