Acquire a model of Jeju Island, South Korea's top vacation destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 73km long volcanic island has a central peak that stands tall at 1950m (6400ft). The provided 3D model is 1:400,000 but is exaggerated vertically by four times for dramatic effect, making each layer represent 10 meters in real life. Note the small bumps outside the main closed curve on each layer, which represent rare geological lava tubes. For more information, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeju_Island. The backdrop is credited to a LOT/EK architecture book, and the satellite photo can be found at the same Wikipedia link. Printing instructions suggest using 0.1mm layer height and 0.8mm+ wall thickness for an accurate representation of the island's topography. Data acquisition credit goes to the author of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7763.
