I previously designed a J hook for metal detectors that attaches to the vertical part of the roll bar, and it's been working flawlessly. Check it out: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2355327 Initially, I used bungees to hang items from the horizontal top bar, but finding and releasing things was a real challenge. After three failed attempts (PETG is notoriously flexible), I incorporated hook loop strips into this solution, and now it's working perfectly for retrieving items off the floor – ideal for my dog room setup. Hooking a strap for travel and unhooking it for use without needing to stretch or contort myself was the main goal. The current design makes it easy to secure and release items without any hassle. The canvas bag shown is quite heavy-duty, but unfortunately, it destroyed the first version I made and didn't last long with the double-thick iteration. However, so far, the thicker, wider velcro strapped snug version has held up well. The little V plug helps keep the hook & loop straps securely mounted in the S-Hook body. To secure the 3/4" double-sided velcro/hook & loop strapping (~20mm), I found that it works best when the rough or loop side of the strap is in contact with the V surfaces – smoother side outwards. Once snugly fitted, the V plugs hold the strap in place for repeated open and close efforts without any issues.
