I've owned three Jeep Wranglers - a 1997, 1999, and 2001 model. Every couple of years, I've experienced a problem with one of the knobs breaking on me during extremely cold winter days when I tried to use them. This led me to decide that it was time to make my own custom knobs. I took precise measurements directly from the OEM Jeep Wrangler knobs using vernier calipers and some educated guesses based on past experience. The result is a set of dimensions that accurately reflect the original design. At this point, each of my Jeeps has at least one custom knob installed, with spare knobs also available in case any of them ever give out.
