I increased the size of the pins and fixed the hanger on the back to fit tightly, eliminating the need for velcro to keep it stable. I designed this mount specifically for my phone in a Jeep TJ, positioning it out of the way with the top on or off, secure from blowing around or sliding out. Initially, I kept it near the emergency brake but nearly damaged the screen when disengaging, as the phone shifted slightly due to the handle. This new design places the phone high up where GPS can be easily viewed during off-road trips and music via Bluetooth is accessible while driving. The mount keeps items off the dash and out of sight from the front of the vehicle. I created this using Openscad - a tool I'm still getting familiar with, but one that I really enjoy for designing purposes. Rubber bands are attached to pins on the backside, allowing users to slide their phone in and out while maintaining tension to hold it in place. Additionally, a velcro command strip was used in the middle of the top piece for extra security against the phone swinging. My objectives include continually improving this design with upgrades such as running rubber bands through the piece, eliminating exposed pins, redesigning the hook to match the full width of the windshield bracket, and making the hook smaller for a more precise fit.
