Jeep SRC Roof Rack Shock Absorber/Vibration Damper Replacement The rubber pieces that came with the rack just won't cut it. Designed specifically for 2" diameter roof racks, this shock absorber/vibration damper gives you more than enough play to prevent slipping and losing your load. You might want to consider using smaller bolts instead of the ones I used - 1/4" x 2" (+nuts) worked fine for me, but they're probably not the best choice. If you've got a hardtop, different roof rack or stock fenders, Part 1 may need some modification - let me know if that's the case! This is version 2 of this design, and I made some slight improvements along with a better way to secure them to your roof rack.
