Jeep Renegade phone holder

Jeep Renegade phone holder

thingiverse

This is my maiden design in Fusion 360. It's a cradle for the phone, designed to be a more reliable alternative to traditional suction cup holders that often detach over time. I know there are plenty of existing solutions, but most rely on suction cups that can be prone to dislodging at high speeds. Imagine being on a highway at 140 km/h when your phone holder suddenly drops off - it's a worrying scenario. To create a more secure cradle for my Jeep Renegade, I designed a holder that attaches using clips to the column between two air outlets. This design allows the cradle to accommodate smartphones with dimensions ranging from 69 to 73 mm in width and a thickness of less than 9.5mm. For anyone who wants to customize their phone cradle, I've made the Fusion 360 file available for download at https://a360.co/2IgI8hu. Simply modify the design to fit your specific phone size. The cradle is easy to detach - all you need to do is use your thumbs to hold the part and push down on the circular fields while gently prying it away from the column. To ensure a tight grip, I've included spring-loaded pins on both sides of the holder that keep your phone securely in place. For optimal printing results, I recommend printing this design vertically with support set at 80 degrees.
